Due to the 1973 oil crisis and the trends of the 1970’s, the now used Porsche 924 was equipped with a considerably weaker engine than other models from the German manufacturer. But remember that“ weaker” doesn’t necessarily mean“ worse” – the most basic version had a 2. 0 litre fuel injected power plant, producing 95 horsepower in a version for the USA market. Due to the fact that in Europe any emissions equipment wasn’t demanded, models delivered were more powerful; making 125 horsepower on the same engine as the above mentioned. A used Porsche 924 can be also equipped with a real monster – a 2. 5 litre water cooled engine, which produces 225 horsepower! This is the most powerful mass produced version and this much power combined with a light weight of the vehicle generates a real breast capable of reaching 0 to 60 mph( 0 to 100 km/h )in about 6 seconds. There are even more powerful versions of a used Porsche 924, but there weren’t many of them, so today they are quite hard to find.
